Hi All,

I have recently passed the FSA regs and SFD certifications and I am now looking to learn how to successfully trade the Foreign Exchange market.

As a raw novice with no previous trading experience and having not come from a financial background I would like some advice on the best way to move forward. i think I am in a fortunate position in that due to my inexperience I currently have no pre conceptions or bad habits. Moving forward would I be best to educate myself and set up a demo account learning from my own experience and mistakes or would I be better off trying to enter a graduate programme/trading arcade to be taught the basic fundamentals and various trading strategies from day one?

I will be learning how to trade Forex imminently however, any advice on how best to start would be much appreciated

Cheers

I was wondering what is the best broker to go with that has custom unit sizes? Say I want to trade a lot at 110000 instead of 100000.

I noticed that the currency pairs AUD/JPY and EUR/USD were doing almost the same thing on the evening of the 11th. The charts look very similar and the prices are making almost the same movements, why would this be the case?

Are they both reacting to the same external information such as news and announcments?

Thanks.

Hi,

I think I'm right in thinking that when investing in stocks and shares you can see the volume of buying or selling, where as with Forex this information is not available.

There are indicators like Stochastics which show overbought and oversold, but this is based purely on momentum of price changes and not actual sale volumes.

How much of an advantage is it to be able to see the actual volume of sales and use that information to judge the level of momentum in a price move?

Thanks.

Hi,

If I wanted to try to make a trade based on borrowing USD and converting to AUD, and buying bonds or cash, in order to try to improve based on USD bouncing off a defensive high, and the AUD recovering with commodity prices over the next year... (though I have possibly missed this trade, I would like to be able to set it up in future...)

What would be the best way to trade that?

Thanks,

T.

Hi all,
i am relatively new to fx and have a method which i am using with good results. It is in part systematical as the entry points are always related to certain ranges.

I manage the trade once entered and trail the best point by moving my stop up as price changes. This is making me good profits so far and also would have done over the last 12 months as i took the TESS charts and traded sep 2007 to sep 2008 as if i was doing it in real time.

I am happy with this approach but i want to see if it would have worked in previous years so wandered if i can get 30 min charts for year 2006 and preferably before thanks SC
